Oscars 2023: Lista de ganadores

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ domina los Oscar con siete victorias, incluida la de Mejor Película. La película fue nombrada mejor película en la 95.ª edición de los Premios de la Academia el domingo, culminando la temporada de premios al ganar el mayor honor de la industria cinematográfica.

Ganó siete estatuillas, incluido el guión original y los honores de dirección para sus creadores Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert (conocidos colectivamente como los Daniels). La victoria es un triunfo para A24, el estudio independiente que llevó la alocada película a la impresionante cifra de 100 millones de dólares en taquilla, un logro impresionante en un momento en que el mercado de las películas de autor se ha marchitado. El estudio también logró la rara hazaña de obtener los cuatro honores de actuación, tres de los cuales fueron ganados por “Everything Everywhere All at Once” y uno por “The Whale”.

Fue una noche de remontadas y reevaluaciones. Michelle Yeoh de “Everything Everywhere All at Once” se convirtió en la primera mujer asiática en ser reconocida como mejor actriz. El honor llegó después de una larga carrera en artes marciales y películas de acción como “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” y “Yes, Madam”. Comentó Yeoh al ganar el oscar:

“Señoras, nunca dejen que nadie les diga que ya pasaron su mejor momento. Para todos los niños y niñas pequeños que se parecen a mí viendo esta noche, este es un faro de esperanza y posibilidad”, agregó.

Brendan Fraser se llevó los honores de mejor actor por su interpretación de un hombre con obesidad mórbida que intenta reconectarse con su hija separada en “The Whale”. Fraser, que alguna vez fue un destacado actor conocido por su trabajo en películas de palomitas de maíz como “George of the Jungle” y “The Mummy”, pasó la última década y se alejó del centro de atención lidiando con problemas de salud y personales. Su victoria continúa su notable resurgimiento.

“Empecé en este negocio hace 30 años, y esto, ciertamente no fue fácil para mí, pero había una instalación que no aprecié en ese momento hasta que se detuvo”, dijo Fraser, reconociendo los reveses de su carrera. Agradeció a su director Darren Aronofsky por “arrojarme un salvavidas creativo y llevarme a bordo”.

Ke Huy Quan ganó el premio al mejor actor de reparto por su interpretación del agotado esposo de Yeoh en “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. Quan, ex estrella infantil que apareció en “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” y “The Goonies”, había dejado de actuar en los últimos años, frustrado por la falta de oportunidades. Al aceptar su premio, luchó por contener las lágrimas mientras compartía su historia personal.

Jamie Lee Curtis, una veterana cabeza de cartel de éxitos de terror como “Halloween” e hija de las leyendas de Hollywood Janet Lee y Tony Curtis, ganó el premio a la mejor actriz de reparto por su papel como inspectora del IRS en “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.

Curtis dedicó su estatua “a todas las personas que han apoyado las películas de género que he hecho durante todos estos años” y también reconoció la historia de su familia en el entretenimiento, señalando que “mi madre y mi padre fueron nominados a los Oscar en diferentes categorías.” Con un nudo en la garganta, terminó con: “Acabo de ganar un Oscar”.
