The Power of the Dog gana Mejor Película en los BAFTA, mientras que Dune lidera con cinco victorias.

Dune fue la gran ganadora de los BAFTA 2022 con cinco victorias. The Power of the Dog de Jane Campion ganó el codiciado premio BAFTA a la mejor película y mejor dirección. Sin embargo, Campion no pudo estar presente en los premios y su protagonista, Benedict Cumberbatch, recibió el premio en su nombre. Otro ausente notable fue Will Smith, quien ganó el premio al mejor actor por King Richard.

La velada comenzó con un homenaje a Ucrania y aquienes dan cobertura a la guerra, muchos de ellos miembros BAFTA por parte del presidente de BAFTA, Krishnendu Majumdar.

Millie Bobby Brown y Florence Pugh presentaron el BAFTA al actor de reparto a Troy Kotsur por CODA, quien bromeó diciendo que era hora de un James Bond sordo.

Este año BAFTA se saltó por completo cualquier premio no competitivo, incluida su prestigiosa Beca BAFTA y su Contribución Destacada al Cine.

Los premios de este año marcaron la segunda edición de los BAFTA desde la innovadora revisión de diversidad del instituto en 2020.
