Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, Troy Kotsur y Ariana DeBose ganaron los principales premios de actuación. Ted Lasso ganó como Mejor Serie de Comedia y Mare of Easttown como Mejor Serie Limitada.

The Power of the Dog ganó el premio a la Mejor Película en la 27ª edición de los Premios Anuales Critics Choice, que se transmitió el domingo por la noche en The CW.

Will Smith ganó como Mejor Actor por King Richard, Jessica Chastain ganó como Mejor Actriz por The Eyes of Tammy Faye y Troy Kotsur ganó como Mejor Actor de Reparto por CODA.

En el lado de la televisión, Succession recibió la mayor cantidad de nominaciones y finalmente ganó el premio a la Mejor Serie Dramática, además de llevarse los premios Kieran Culkin y Sarah Cook al Mejor Actor de Reparto en una Serie Dramática y a la Mejor Actriz de Reparto en una Serie Dramática respectivamente.

Los Critics Choice Awards se llevaron a cabo en el Fairmont Century Plaza de Los Ángeles y fueron presentados por Nicole Byer y el cuatro veces maestro de ceremonias Taye Diggs. Se instaló un lugar separado en el histórico Savoy Hotel de Londres para acomodar a los muchos nominados que asisteron a los Premios BAFTA en el Royal Albert Hall ese mismo día. La incomodidad de que ambos eventos se programen en el lapso de unas pocas horas se debe al hecho de que los Premios Critics Choice se habían programado originalmente para el 9 de enero antes de retrasarse hasta el 13 de marzo debido al aumento de Omicron.
