Warner Bros. que pronto será adquirida por Netfli encabezó las nominaciones a los 31° Critics Choice Awards en la categoría de películas con “One Battle After Another” de Paul Thomas Anderson y “Sinners” de Ryan Coogler.

La organización presentó cuatro nuevas categorías competitivas este año: sonido, diseño de especialistas, casting y elenco para cine, además de series de variedades para televisión. Chelsea Handler regresa como presentadora por cuarto año consecutivo.

Seleccionados por aproximadamente 575 miembros con derecho a voto, los Premios de la Crítica Cinematográfica (CCA) suelen reflejar un consenso más amplio de la industria, ofreciendo una evaluación de las películas que han cautivado a la crítica.

La temporada pasada demostró el poder predictivo de la organización. “Anora” se aprovechó de su victoria como mejor película en los Premios de la Crítica Cinematográfica para reafirmarse tras quedar fuera de los Globos de Oro y los Premios SAG, un impulso que mantuvo hasta los Premios de la Academia. Tres ganadores de interpretación —Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin y Zoe Saldaña— también repitieron en los Oscar.

Por primera vez en su historia, la CCA publicó una lista oficial de finalistas en 11 categorías de artesanos, destacando a los creadores detrás de escena de algunas de las películas más aclamadas del año. Aún existe la posibilidad de que “Avatar: Fuego y Ceniza”, de James Cameron, aparezca en algunas contiendas artesanales, e incluso en la categoría de mejor película, ya que los votantes tenían la opción de escribir a los candidatos que no se estrenaron a tiempo para el comité de nominaciones.

Los Premios de la Crítica Cinematográfica se entregan anualmente para reconocer logros destacados en cine y televisión. Bob Bain Productions y Berlin Entertainment serán los productores ejecutivos.

La 31.ª edición anual de los Premios de la Crítica Cinematográfica se emitirá en directo por E! el domingo 4 de enero de 2026.
