Annie Awards 2023: Lista de ganadores

“Pinocho de Guillermo del Toro” ha obtenido otro premio en su marcha hacia los Oscar, al obtener el premio de largometraje en la 50.ª edición de los Premios Annie, presentados por ASIFA-Hollywood, el sábado por la noche.

Además de ser nombrada la mejor película de la industria de la animación, “Pinocchio” encabezó la lista de ganadores con cinco trofeos en total, incluido el premio a la mejor dirección para Del Toro y su compañero director Mark Gustafson. La película stop-motion también obtuvo premios en música (Alexandre Desplat, Roeban Katz, del Toro y Patrick McHale), diseño de producción (Curt Enderle y Guy Davis) y diseño de personajes (Tucker Barrie).

Guillermo Del Toro, quien viene directamente de los Premios PGA donde recibió el trofeo por producir ‘Pinocchio’, estaba emocionado de ganar el Annie a la dirección junto a Gustafson. “¿Puedo decir esto? Quería tanto a la maldita Annie. ¡Es la cosa más hermosa del mundo!”. Señaló que la ceremonia de Annies fue el único lugar en el que no tuvo que señalar que la animación es un medio y no un género. “Lo que puedo decir sobre ‘Pinocchio’ es que fue hecho por artistas, y los animadores fueron tratados como actores y no como técnicos”.

“Marcel the Shell With Shoes On”, también una película de stop-motion, siguió de cerca, recogiendo el Annie por película independiente, así como otros dos premios. Jenny Slate ganó el premio de actuación de voz por su interpretación de Marcel, mientras que Slate, Dean Fleischer Camp, Nick Paley y Elizabeth Holm ganaron por guión.

Apple TV+ y BBC se llevaron cuatro Annies por su cortometraje animado “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse”, que incluye la mejor producción especial y dirección para un proyecto de TV/medios. La película de 34 minutos fue dirigida por Peter Baynton y Charlie Mackesy, el autor del libro en el que se basó la película. Tim Watts ganó por diseño de personajes de televisión/medios y Daniel Budin se llevó un zoótropo dorado por editorial de televisión/medios.

La serie de antología de animación de Netflix “Love Death + Robots” se llevó a casa cuatro premios: mejor FX para televisión/medios (Kirby Miller, Igor Zanic, Joseph H. Coleman, Steven Dupuy y Josh Schwartz), diseño de personajes para televisión/medios (Alberto Mielgo) , escribiendo para TV/medios (Andrew Kevin Walker) y guión gráfico para TV/medios (Emily Dean).
